Highlighting Sustainability, Accessibility and Innovation at Clerkenwell Design Week

Lowe & Fletcher are excited to be attending Clerkenwell Design Week, the UK’s biggest design festival from 21-23 May. We’ll be looking to meet designers, specifiers and architects at this event, to discuss lock requirements.

With over 600 showroom events, topical talks by industry leaders and 11+ curated exhibitions, Clerkenwell promises to be an amazing opportunity to learn more about the latest trends in design, see amazing installations and meet other like-minded industry professionals.

Amongst the hundreds of showcases and talks happening at Clerkenwell Design Week, we will be paying particular attention to all things sustainability and accessibility.

Sustainability takes centre stage

Clerkenwell Design Week offers a vibrant platform for exploring the latest eco-friendly design practices.

The event is expected to delve into the concept of a circular economy, where products are designed with their entire lifecycle in mind. Exploring products that are easy to disassemble and recycle, creating a closed loop system that minimises environmental impact.

With a major focus on longevity going beyond style, industry experts are set to provide valuable insights into crafting furniture and spaces that are built to last through the use of modular design and longer lasting materials as well as highlighting restoration.

From talks unveiling the latest innovative recyclable materials to engaging discussions about minimising waste during production processes, this event is a prime opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable design thinking.

At Lowe & Fletcher, we are proud to already hold ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental accreditations respectively, underlining our commitment to reducing waste, lowering consumption of raw materials and increasing our use of recyclable and renewable materials.

We really can’t wait to discover even more ingenious ways to further our drive towards sustainability!

Prioritising workplace accessibility

The workplace is constantly evolving, as more and more people return to the office post-pandemic, businesses are striving to ensure that their work spaces offer their staff comfort, convenience and accessibility.

Workplaces designed with accessibility in mind go beyond ramps and wider doorways. They consider the needs of a diverse workforce, not just physical limitations but also sensory sensitivities and cognitive differences.

Designing for accessibility isn’t just about following regulations, it’s about creating a work environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to perform their best.

Lowe & Fletcher understands the importance of designing products around accessibility, as shown with our intuitive ADA Compliant Digital Combination Lock, ideal for a range of public and work spaces that require a user-friendly locking system.
